As per the recent report assessing the growth and reach of Ayush products and services, Kotecha said that the Ayush sector has witnessed an 8-fold rise in its growth expanding the capital from 2.85 billion USD to 23 billion USD, estimated from 2014 to 2024.

He also adds, “This growth underscores the increasing global demand for traditional Indian wellness products” in an exclusive interview with the Indian Express ahead of the NAM (National Ayush Mission) conclave on May 1&2 at Kaivalyadham, Lonavala.

NAM or National Ayush Mission conclave was a two-day event on Ayush products and services' growth and enhancement. There were several aspects discussed about the recent growth and development of the Ayush sector. The discussion also offered a clear outline of the future strategies for enhancing the growth and development of the Ayush sector. On May 1 and 2 at Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, Lonavala, the Ministry of Ayush organises the national Ayush Mission (NAM) conclave, under the chairmanship of Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (IC) for Ayush. Here are some key points discussed in the conclave-

·         The primary focus of NAM conclave 2025 this May was to guide a roadmap for integrating Ayush into mainstream healthcare infrastructure.

·         Recent growth of Ayush sector. Which has estimated an exceptional growth of 2.85 billion USD to 23 billion USD within the period of 2014 to 2024 (10-year growth assessment).

·         The ministry of Ayush organised a conclave also discuss the potential future growth of Ayush sector as the demand of Ayush products and services surges in the global market. 

·         In the conclave, the ministry also discussed the common challenges that the industry is facing to highlight the details of how and what challenges the sector is facing in the process of global market access.

·         Nonetheless, in this 2-day conclave under the chairmanship of Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (IC) for Ayush, also discussed and sketched out possible initiatives they are going to undertake for future development and enhancement of access to the global market. 

This conclave aimed to explore the highest level of discussions to figure out the possible strategies of NAM. It is a centrally sponsored scheme for implementation through state/UT governments for the overall promotion and development of AYUSH healthcare system of India.

Key Outcomes Discussed at the NAM Conclave 2025

·         5.6 crore people accessed tertiary care Ayush institutes

·        1,372 Ayush Health & Wellness Centres granted NABH certifications.

·        189 high-tech and advanced Ayush Hospitals have been established and integrated into the existing healthcare infrastructure. 

Launch of Standard Treatment Guideline in the NAM Conclave 2025

The National Ayush Mission conclave on May 1 and 2 further discusses several standard treatment guidelines for making further integration and access enhancement of Ayush products and services easier and more effective on the global market. Here are some common standard treatment guidelines discussed at the NAM conclave 2025-

·    STG or standard treatment guidelines were introduced for metabolic disorders such as obesity, Grout, diabetes, NAFLD, and Dyslipidaemia.

·    The guideline incorporates dietary protocols, yoga, clinical procedures and more to ensure wider and easier adaptation.

·     The launched guidelines were developed by the research council and allopathic experts using essential findings from their research.

Demand for AYUSH Products and Services in the Global Market

The demand for AYUSH products and services witnessing a steep and steady growth in the global market as the demand for Ayurvedic medicines and treatments becomes more relevant and preferred in the world. The domestic market of the Ayush sector has reached 43.4 billion USD with a CAGR growth rate of 17%. Currently, Ayush products and services have been exported across 150 countries across the globe. Also, the ministry highlights its ongoing collaboration with WHO (World Health Organization) for developing International Harmonised Protocols (IHP). With this, the ministry aims to expand the global quality and efficacy standards for AYUSH products and make Ayush products and services more accessible in the global market.
